Our Mission
We exist to Rescue the Hearts of Men and lead them to Jesus.
In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:4-5)
Many men are living tired, isolated, and unsure of who they really are. But you were made for more—for strength, for joy, for a life that’s wholehearted and free. At Light of Men, we help men recover what’s been lost, restore their God-given identity, and walk with God as sons. Through adventure, brotherhood, and deep, honest spaces, we invite men into the healing and freedom only Jesus can bring.
Our Story (the Short Version)
began with a simple friendship. Jim and Matt had been walking closely together for years, learning to follow Jesus and support one another as brothers.
In October 2022, after attending a Wild at Heart Bootcamp, Matt sensed a clear call from Jesus to “rescue the hearts of men and lead them to me.” At the same time, Jesus was prompting Jim to step more intentionally into leadership with the men around him. As their convictions aligned, they hosted their first Wild at Heart Bootcamp and they began hosting Wild at Heart Fires across Central and Northeast Florida—gatherings where men could be honest, share their stories, and reconnect with Jesus alongside other men.
During this season, God brought Monty, Josh, and Steve into the fellowship—three like-hearted men who are pursuing Jesus and each investing deeply in other men. It quickly became clear that a larger brotherhood was forming. Together, the five of us established Light of Men Ministries, Inc., a Florida
501(c)(3) non profit organization with a clear mission:
to Rescue the Hearts of Men
and Lead them to Jesus.
Since October 2023, we’ve hosted monthly Fires in Apopka, Palm Coast, and Clermont, Florida, as well as Wild at Heart Bootcamps, a Becoming a King retreat, and Survival School. We continue to serve men in our local communities and partner with allies across Florida, Colorado, and North Carolina to support the rescue of men’s hearts and guide them toward Jesus.
